"TAKE BETTER CARE OF EACH OTHER ..AND OUR FRAGILE PLANET."

The phrase 'Walk More Softly' asks us all to be more responsible and respectful towards others, more humble and generous. It asks us to be more aware of ourselves and the impact we have on the environment and people around us. This important concept transcends politics and religion; it speaks to us as individuals, families, communities and entire populations.

Jock Bartley, leader of the platinum-selling rock band Firefall, wrote the song 'WALK MORE SOFTLY' in 2008; it was debuted on Sirius Satellite Radio in September 2009. "As soon as the title popped into my mind, I knew how important the meaning of those three words was," he said. Soon the song and 'concept' began attracting attention with Educators, Administrators and business people in Colorado. Their efforts led to the statewide WALK MORE SOFTLY High School CREATIVE ARTS CONTEST in the winter of 2010/2011. And in 2011/2012 a second contest will be happening in schools in Colorado and other sates in the following ARTS categories:

*FILM / VIDEO
*MUSIC / AUDIO RECORDING
*GRAPHIC DESIGN
*PAINTING / DRAWING
*PHOTOGRAPHY
*ANIMATION

With the backing of Colorado Governor, John Hickenlooper, the goal is to have the 2011 Grand Prize Winning student poster on 'bullying' by Nick Sanchez hanging in every High School and Middle School in Colorado in the coming school year.

Gully Stanford, Michael Bautista, Jennifer Jirous and other Colorado Educators join Jock in expanding these school contests into other states in the coming years.. and into Middle School Art and Science classes. "We hope this becomes a NATIONAL STUDENT MOVEMENT," says Gully Stanford of 'College in Colorado.' The 'WALK MORE SOFTLY' team is moving purposefully in that direction.
